AI Agent Wallet

An AI agent wallet is a crypto wallet designed to be controlled directly by autonomous software (an "AI agent") rather than a human operator, generally with programmable spending limits, permitted actions, and time windows configured in advance by whoever deploys the agent.
This is an emerging, rapidly-evolving area as of this writing, with multiple companies building dedicated agent-wallet infrastructure; the genuinely hard problem in this design space is less the payment mechanism itself and more the authority question — giving an autonomous agent enough spending power to be useful without giving it enough to cause real, unsupervised financial harm.
Examples
- An AI agent wallet's programmable spending caps are specifically designed to bound the financial harm an autonomous agent could cause if it malfunctions or is manipulated.
- Crypto's appeal for AI agent wallets stems partly from being machine-native — an agent can hold keys and settle payments without needing a traditional bank account.
