BRC-20
An experimental token standard built on top of Bitcoin Ordinals inscriptions.
BRC-20 is an experimental token standard that uses Ordinals inscriptions to define and track fungible tokens on Bitcoin, distinct from and technically much simpler than Ethereum's ERC-20 standard, which it's named in reference to.
Because it's built on inscriptions rather than native smart contract logic, BRC-20 has real, documented technical limitations compared to smart-contract-based token standards.
