Mining Pool
A group of miners who combine computing power and share rewards proportionally.
A mining pool is a group of individual miners who combine their computing power to increase their collective chances of successfully mining a block, then share the resulting rewards proportionally.
Joining a pool generally produces smaller but more frequent and predictable payouts than mining alone, where a single miner's chances of success can be very low.
Examples
- A miner might join a pool to receive smaller, more frequent rewards instead of rare, larger ones alone.
- Mining pool rewards are typically distributed based on each participant's contributed computing power.
