Quadratic Voting
A voting model where the cost of additional votes on one option rises quadratically.
Quadratic voting is a governance model where casting additional votes toward the same option costs progressively more (the cost rises with the square of the number of votes), intended to reduce the influence of very large holders relative to a simple one-token-one-vote system.
This is meant to better reflect the intensity of many smaller holders' preferences, rather than letting concentrated holdings dominate every vote.
Examples
- Under quadratic voting, casting 4 votes toward one option costs more than 4 times what a single vote costs.
- This model is intended to reduce the disproportionate influence of very large token holders.
