Restaking
Using already-staked assets or a liquid staking token to simultaneously secure an additional protocol.
Restaking lets already-staked assets (or a liquid staking token representing them) be used again to help secure an additional protocol or service, rather than only securing the original base network.
This can let staked capital earn additional rewards from securing more than one system, but it also means that capital is exposed to more than one set of slashing conditions and protocol-specific risks simultaneously.
