Validator Set
The current group of participants authorized to validate blocks on a proof-of-stake network.
A validator set is the current group of participants authorized to propose and validate blocks on a proof-of-stake network, generally determined by staked collateral and, on some networks, additional eligibility requirements.
Validator sets can change over time as participants join, leave, or are removed (for example, through slashing for misbehavior).

- A network's validator set size can affect its overall decentralization and security assumptions.
- A validator can be removed from the validator set through slashing for provable misbehavior.
