Vanity Address
A wallet address deliberately generated to contain a specific, chosen pattern of characters.
A vanity address is a wallet address generated by repeatedly trying key pairs until one produces an address containing a specific, desired pattern of characters, such as a name or word.
Generating one doesn't reduce cryptographic security in principle, but it's worth verifying it was created using trustworthy, well-reviewed software rather than an unfamiliar or unverified tool.
Examples
- A vanity address might be generated to start with a recognizable, chosen sequence of characters.
- Generating a vanity address with well-reviewed software doesn't inherently weaken its underlying security.
