How to read the result
Market cap is the market's current valuation of the tokens that are actually circulating. It's most useful for comparing the relative size of assets, and for sanity-checking price targets: a target price implies a market cap, which you can compare against other assets.
Limitations
- It uses circulating supply only; tokens still locked or unissued are excluded — compare with fully diluted valuation (FDV) to see the effect of future unlocks.
- A large market cap doesn't mean that much money could actually be realised by selling; thin liquidity can make the figure fragile.
