Slippage Calculator
Estimate a swap's output amount and price impact using the constant-product AMM formula.
What this tool does
Estimates a swap's output amount and price impact using the constant-product AMM formula, before pool fees.
Assumptions
Results use only the values you enter. They are estimates for education and planning, not investment advice or live market data.
How it's calculated
- Amount out = reserve out × amount in ÷ (reserve in + amount in)
- Price impact (%) = (1 − execution price ÷ spot price) × 100
- Spot price = reserve out ÷ reserve in; execution price = amount out ÷ amount in
Worked example
- Pool: 1,000,000 USDC and 400 ETH
- Trade: sell 50,000 USDC for ETH
Result: Receive 19.0476 ETH; price impact 4.76%
Computed with this calculator's own formula.
How to read the result
In a constant-product pool, every unit you buy makes the next unit more expensive, so large trades relative to pool size get noticeably worse prices. In this example the trade is 5% of the USDC reserve, and the price impact is about 4.8%.
Limitations
- Pool fees are not included (a 0.3% fee would reduce the output further).
- It models a single constant-product (x × y = k) pool; concentrated-liquidity pools and aggregators route trades differently.
- Other trades — including MEV sandwich attacks — can change the price before yours executes, which is what a slippage-tolerance setting protects against.
