Verifiable Credential
A cryptographically signed digital claim that can be independently verified.
A verifiable credential is a digital claim (such as "holder completed this course") cryptographically signed by its issuer, letting anyone independently verify the claim's authenticity without needing to contact the issuer directly.
This is a building block of decentralized identity systems, letting credentials be portable and independently checkable.
