Rage Quit
A DAO mechanism letting a member exit and withdraw their proportional share of the treasury if they disagree with a passed governance decision.
Rage quit is a DAO governance mechanism that lets a member who disagrees with a passed proposal exit the organization and withdraw their proportional share of the treasury (see Kaavon's "DAO" glossary definition), rather than being bound by a decision they didn't support and have no further say in.
This mechanism gives individual members a genuine, direct exit option beyond simply voting against a proposal and losing — a meaningful structural check specifically against a majority using its voting power in ways a minority considers harmful to their own interests.
Examples
- A DAO member who disagrees with a passed proposal can rage quit, withdrawing their proportional treasury share rather than remaining bound by the decision.
- Rage quit gives individual members a genuine exit option beyond simply losing a vote, a structural check on how majority voting power can be used.
